A Dictionary of Emotions in a Time of War, is a film by Kevin Ryan with Music by Simon Quigley. It is based on a text written by Olena Astasyeva, an Ukrainian artist who lived in Wexford not long after the outbreak of the Russian invasion of her homeland.

The film is a sound and video art work that juxtaposes Olena Astasyeva’s life in Ukraine and then Wexford and how suddenly the normal is replaced by the abnormal. 

The film is narrated by Sasha Bratkova, in English, Ukranian and English and shot by Katie Ryan.  

41° 46' North Promo

41° 46′ North is a short film about the making of Ryan v The White Star Line and directed by Kilian Waters. It features Simon on Piano, Martin McCann on vocals. Also Clare Kavanagh Soprano and a String Quartet. The piece is about Thomas Ryan from Askeaton in Limerick who sued the White Star Line for the death of his son Patrick. He won his case in the Royal Courts of London in 1913. The theme of water and drowning seeks to reflect the impact in 2013.

Human Frailty

Human Frailty is about the humanitarian crisis in Europe. It reflects how media and politicians denigrated and dehumanised our fellow human beings in their time of crisis. This is a radio edit of the piece with an atmospheric video by visual artist Bernadette Beecher.
